The opening is clear and sparkling. Orange blossom and chinotto leaves and peels intertwine with the luminous notes of mandarin and anise, creating a fresh and vibrant first breath, like the night air.

At the heart, chinotto flower and jasmine merge with velvety tuberose and Damask rose, while ylang-ylang and iris provide a soft, sophisticated powdery touch. Here, aldehydes insinuate themselves like metallic reflections of the moon on water, forming an almost hypnotic contrast.

The base is a sensual and profound embrace. Golden honey blends with the resinous richness of incense and the herbal aroma of wormwood, supported by the spicy warmth of juniper and the earthy depth of patchouli and cedar. Oud, a silent protagonist, envelops everything with its dark allure, while musk amplifies the longevity—an echo lingering in the air long after the wearer has passed.

The Sides of the Moon is Abaton’s new olfactory collection, inspired by the moon and its infinite shades. Three fragrances tell the dialogue between light and shadow, sweetness and mystery, revealing both the visible and hidden sides of the soul. Like the song Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield, which tells the story of a woman who loses her lover to a violent act in the middle of the night. He was killed by gunmen in 1980, yet she believes their bond endures beyond death. The fragrance captures this mood: softly melancholic, deeply emotional, and quietly hopeful.
